The era is long gone where we could manually decipher everything. As rightly said by one of the famous scientists, “This is the century of Machines.” The dependence of human being over machines have never been so high, and its use is always a debatable one. The most recent field of study is the Artificial Intelligence(AI). Plainly put, ‘it is the intelligence exhibited by computers and machines’. These advanced machines act as an intelligent agent, which can read the particular case environment or surrounding and accordingly take action. The responses are such that it maximizes its chances of success.

Now, so far what we know is that the system works on AI, but it is important that the Artificial Intelligence show a few likable traits that make it efficient. These characteristics are:

- The ability to learn. This should be inserted in the algorithm so that the AI system is capable of extracting a desired reaction to a stimuli, when kept in similar environment.
- Communication or language processing is an important chore of any AI system.
- Machine perception at multiple levels is required. This could be done by inserting sensors.
- Social Intelligence, General Intelligence, Creativity, Motion and manipulation, Cybernetics and brain simulation, Cognitive Simulation, Statistical Problem solving ability, Search and optimization ability, etc., are a few other important traits that is required by an Artificial Intelligence System.
The Advantages And Disadvantages Of The Artificial Intelligence System
- They are capable of doing multiple operations and a variety of operations can be executed by the system.
- The AI system is a door to increased technological breakthroughs and their accuracy, precision and amount of work executed, only makes us even more inquisitive about what this technology is capable of doing in the coming years.
- There is no harm done, and these machines can work non stop and execute a lot of work in a very short duration, unlike anything done in manual simulation.
Now, like every other creation, these systems have their share of demerits as well. But non stop work and research, does add confidence and makes the scientists hopeful of overcoming the odds. A few disadvantages are:
- There is no human feel. The lack of emotions is one major disadvantage about the AI systems.
- Over reliance on these AI systems can cause more harm than good. Here, the reliability of AI systems, in all environments is subject to questioning.
- Loss of human employment, due to the domination and ability of these machines.
- One major factor for disapproval of this technology on many frontiers, is attributed to the fact that it can be subjected to misuse by unscrupulous individuals. It is one of major concerns of the AI world and providing a strong wall of security would ensure that this technology is ready to go to the next level.
The Changes And Positives Brought In By Artificial Intelligence In Everyday Life
Having seen the various facets of this technology, it becomes immensely important to realize their potential and use in the present world. From the voice recognition in the I-Phones to the dimensioning of the virtual reality, everything has stemmed from research in the area of Artificial Intelligence. That they can further be fine tuned to create some technological wonders is for another day. But the question here is, are we ready to handle this technology?
