Best Foundation and highlighters for Dusky Skin
Hey, everyone, today we’re going to talk about how you could find your perfect foundation match and the best highlighters if you have dusky skin. Now, I see a lot of you guys swatch the foundation on your wrist but let me tell you that’s not going to help you find the right shade because your wrist and your face does not have the same undertone.
Aside from that, I don’t know a lot of you who also swatch the foundation on your neck but let me tell you again that’s not how you do it because your neck is usually lighter than your face and this way you are going to end up wearing the wrong shade.
The best way to get yourself the perfect match is by swatching your foundation on your jawline and if you think you are in-between shades then swatch all the shades on your jawline and see which one blends perfectly with your skin tone and check the shade in the right light.
It looks drastically different when you see it under yellow light, under white light and under fluorescent light. While under yellow light it makes your face look very washed out and flat, under fluorescent light it looks very harsh and your face ends up looking really pale. The ideal light would be a natural white light.

Let me quickly tell you some of my favourite foundations for dusky skin — the first one on my list is from L’Oréal and this one is from their infallible 24-hour range and this is in the shade number 320 called caramel toffee.
This range has a lot of options for you guys to choose from and it also has the correct undertone. The next one is from L.A Girl — this is their Pro Coverage High Definition Foundation.
Now this one offers medium to full coverage and it’s also very affordable there are sixteen foundation shades that you can choose from and I absolutely love this.
One of my next favourites is from Nykaa — this is the Skin Genius Sculpting and Hydrating Foundation I have the shade True Tan and there are five shades that you could choose from. What I really like about this one is that it has a very dewy and lightweight finish which makes it perfect for everyday wear.
Next, we have this one from Colorbar — this is the Amino Skin Radiant Foundation, now this one again is perfect for everyday wear it’s very creamy it has high coverage and it has a lot of different shades for you to choose from and it just sits beautifully on your skin.
Tips for picking a highlighter for dusky skin
#1 Match the formula with your foundation: It needs to match the formula of your foundation when you are using a powder foundation avoid liquid highlighters because that means you’re gonna get a very patchy finish.
#2 Say no to frosty or light pink shades: Stay away from light pink shades or anything
that’s frosty because it’s gonna appear very chalky and it’s going to look overtly sparkly
Best highlighters for dusky skin
Now I’m gonna share some of my favourite highlighters that complement darker skin tones. Let’s start with powders first, this one is from Milani and this is their Sunglow Luminescence Strobe Light — why I like this is because it gives that very warm glow to your face and also, it’s highly pigmented. Aside from that I also love its creamy formulation and the fact that it’s also very long-lasting.
The next one is from Nykaa this is their Glow Getter Highlighting & Illuminating Duo and this works really well for darker skin tones. Moving on to liquid highlighters now the first one is from Makeup Revolution — this is the Liquid Highlighter in the shade Liquid Bronze gold. These are very concentrated and pigmented and you can use this with your foundation or on its own and they’re very easy to blend.
Next one is from MUA this is their Undress Your Skin Shimmer Highlighter in the shade Radiant Cashmere and like the name suggests this is very shimmery and this particular shade will instantly lift your complexion. I hope this blog helps you find the perfect foundation shade and highlighters.
