How globaliD and CUDDLY are making the world a better place for cats and dogs
Many of us associate identity with maybe our government issued driver’s license or maybe our login for an online social media account.
But in reality, identity is much more than that and underlies practically anything that has to do with trust and exchange. It’s also why a robust framework for identity is so central to a well-functioning society.
So you might not typically associate identity with making the world a better place for cats and dogs, but globaliD’s latest partnership with CUDDLY helps achieve exactly that.
Over 3,300,000 dogs and 3,200,000 cats are adopted from rescues and shelters every year. Many of these shelters rely on antiquated systems and others might not have access to important government databases. Shelters and rescues also currently don’t have an effective means of communicating with each other in the case that bad actors — animal abusers, for instance — try to manipulate the system. More commonly, these inefficiencies create unnecessary bottlenecks that prevent more animal lives from being saved.
That’s why we’re thrilled to announce our latest partnership with CUDDLY, a leading technology provider to animal welfare non-profit organizations. Through their integration of globaliD’s digital identity solution, they’ve launched a new identity product — CUDDLYID — to help streamline and secure the pet adoption process.
What that means is more pets saved and a further guarantee that those pets will go to loving owners and homes.
John J. Hussey, Chief Executive Officer and Founder of CUDDLY:
“The technology available today has the potential to improve this somewhat antiquated adoption process. By modernizing the lines of communication, our animal rescue partners can deliver animals into permanent homes sooner. Utilizing the CUDDLY ID platform will eliminate needless delays created by clerical inefficiencies, potentially reducing the demand on partner resources and ultimately saving the lives of more animals. Moreover, the use of machine learning can enhance the adoption counseling process connecting adopter and a pet, optimizing the selection process and potentially reducing the number of returns back to animal welfare organizations annually.”
Greg Kidd, co-founder and CEO of globaliD:
“One of our primary objectives is to ensure that globaliD integration is as quick, convenient, and seamless as possible, and a prime example of that is our partnership with CUDDLY and what they’ve been able to do with CUDDLY ID in such a short span of time. Digital identity has never been more critical; a smart and robust identity framework not only empowers individuals and institutions, it serves as a foundation for a stronger, better-connected society. It’s only natural then that the use cases for self-sovereign identity are limitless. In some cases that means powering global economic exchange. In others, such as with CUDDLY ID, it means creating a safer world for dogs up for adoption.”
