Because we care, we’re here to share an important reminder: check yourself before you wreck yourself!

Product videos are made to share your brand’s personality, product, and benefit to the potential customer. Over the years these videos have increased in cinematic quality, even to the point of utilizing professional script writers. Growth Hackers pretty much leads the pack for these high-quality productions, but none of us is perfect. Once that video is made and published to YouTube, the company pretty much thinks everything is smooth sailing…

Watch this short video from Projects at Growth Hackers and prepare yourself for a BIG surprise.

Wait, that looked pretty normal, right? Right. Here’s the catch; if you don’t look deeper to check and finalize your closed caption subtitles you might find yourself in a world of trouble….

See what we mean? Right smack in the middle closed caption turned quickly into a crude (but kinda funny) comedian clip, perhaps placed there by an overworked and disgruntled video tech. And while this switch up might be hilarious to some, we know for a fact it’s not what the company had in mind when they dropped cold hard cash to produce this extremely well-done product video.

The takeaway is this, folks: always review your closed captions before submitting that video. Hustle hard and stay focused!

Oh, and p.s. Growth Hackers has reached out to thank us for finding that caption and they’ve made their edits.
