Here are 77 very specific signs that could help you find the exit for your toxic relationship. To make it more manageable, I’m breaking it down into 4 parts.
This is Part 4, #61–77.
61. They like dogs because dogs worship them blindly. They’re usually not so keen on cats,
62. They can fake cry on cue and they do it often.
63. When someone close to them dies, they don’t cry. Not for real. They might fake cry for the audience,
64. After the love bombing ends, you will never get a birthday present or a Christmas present, and some coverts never give gifts even during the love bombing phase.
65. They will ruin all your holidays. Every Christmas they perform a drama. On your birthday they find a reason to walk away.
66. They are flaky and irresponsible, If you live with them, you have to pay the bills to keep everything going.
67. You have a feeling of constant disappointment when you’re around them. They’re always disappointing you in some way.
68. After the love bombing ends, they’re not thoughtful. They stop holding doors open for you and they don’t help carry heavy bags into the house.
69. Their Google history mysteriously disappears on a regular basis.
70. They never put their phone down or let you touch it.
71. Their childhood memories are often vague and sketchy.
72. Male coverts won’t discipline their kids because of their compulsive need to be liked.
73. They were golden children, told by at least one parent they could do no wrong, often firstborns.
74. They rarely have criminal records other than domestic abuse misdemeanors.
75. They aren’t into religion unless it’s a means to an end. They might join a church to increase their status in the community, but it’s all for show.
76. When you’re with them, you’ll find yourself doing things that are against your own values. They encourage you to make them an exception in every aspect of your life.
77. Once the love bombing ends, you feel bad all the time whenever you’re around them. You always feel like you’ve done something wrong but you can’t quite put your finger on what it is.
Suffice it to say if it seems too good to be true, it always is. Don’t accept unearned adoration. Question why someone would run around doing everything for you and seeing to your comfort like you’re a king or queen. Question why you might think it’s ok to accept obeisance as your due.
Love might feel like magic, but relationships aren’t magic. They take work. If it doesn’t feel like work for you, someone is smoothing the way and they expect to be repaid for their efforts in their preferred currency — abuse.
