These links are the most inspiring ones I’ve found for explaining van / rv electric systems:
Parts
- 2 small panels: 100w Renogy Eclipse Panels
- 1 big panel: 365w LG Panel… ordered through a local Pratt electric
- 2 x 20-amp fuses, one for each parallel circuit (2 Renogy panels go in series, and subsequently in parallel with the LG)… the voltages are close enough for this
- 1 x 50' of 10-awg PV wire
- Renogy connectors (to make parallel connections)
- Cable gland
- MPPT Charge controller
- 80/20… 3 x 46" transverse rails from 8020.net and then 2 extra longitudinal ones to frame the large LG to make sure it’s nicely supported… 66" or so seemed like a large span to span with a residential panel
- Brackets… black, 3 pairs, two round, one square. Kind of a steep price, but saves me running around for a lot of hardware and looks grade A.
- 40-amp breaker switch before MPPT
