ICC World Cup 2023 Schedule: List of Matches, Venues and Timetable
The International Cricket Council (ICC) ODI World Cup is one of the most anticipated events in the cricketing calendar. The tournament, which is held once every four years, brings together the best cricketing nations from around the world to compete for the prestigious title of World Champions.
The ICC World Cup 2023 is scheduled to be hosted in India which will begin on October 5, 2023, and continue till November 19, 2023 but the excitement around this event is already building up. It will be the first time that India will stage the tournament exclusively in their territory. In the past, in 1987, 1996, and 2011, India organized the event with the collaboration of their neighboring countries, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh. The ICC released the ODI World Cup 2023 schedule on 27th June, Tuesday. First match will take place on October 5 between England vs New Zealand at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad.
Format Of ICC Men’s World Cup 2023
The ICC Men’s 50-over world cup will be in the same format as that of the 2019 world cup. There will be a total of 10 teams. 48 matches will be held. The top 8 teams India, Pakistan, Australia, England, South Africa, New Zealand, Afghanistan and Bangladesh qualify for the tournament. The remaining 2 teams will be selected from the world cup super league matches. The tournament will follow a round-robin format, where each team will play against the other 9 teams once. After the round-robin stage, the top 4 teams will qualify for the semi-finals with the top two teams advancing to the final.
World Cup Team:
There should be 10 teams playing in the 2023 ICC Cricket World Cup, these teams are India, England, Australia, South Africa, New Zealand, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, West Indies, and Afghanistan.
Venue:
The matches will be played in several locations across the country like Ahmedabad, Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Delhi, Indore, Dharamsala, Guwahati, Rajkot, Raipur and Mumbai. Given below are the ICC cricket world cup 2023 stadiums list:

Time:
In terms of timings, the Day/Night matches shall begin at 2 pm IST. Whereas the day matches shall begin at 10:30 am IST. In all, we have 6 Day matches and 42 D/N matches. India, England, and South Africa are the only three teams that won’t play any day match. Whereas Bangladesh will play a total of three, day matches.
ODI World Cup 2023 Team India Schedule:
Team India will start their World Cup campaign on October 8 against winners Australia in Chennai. The other big matches are against Pakistan in Ahmedabad (October 15), England in Lucknow (October 29) and South Africa in Kolkata (November 5). Other than the matches mentioned above, Team India will also play 2 warm-up matches ahead of the tournament. While India will play England on September 30 in Guwahati, they will play Qualifier 1 on October 3 in Trivandrum.
