Do’s and Don’ts of Styling for Hourglass Body Shape
The Hourglass figure can be deemed as the most sought after body shape that everyone wants to possess. If you are among the lucky ones who do possess this body type, your well-defined waist and your proportionate bust and hip structure is perfect to experiment with all types of clothing.
You don’t have to worry about hiding your features, but you can choose which ones to highlight according to the occasion. Your wardrobe should consist of well-fitted garments like v-neck tops, pencil skirts, fitted dresses that forms a perfect fit around your bust and elongates your waist.
Try to pick out bootcut trousers, or stretchable denims that will accentuate your waist and hip curves. You can experiment with high, mid or low rise jeans, according to your preference. We suggest trying on the georgette ruffle neck blouse or the satin bow tie maroon blouse which would fit you perfectly on the bust, courtesy to the dart detailing for a better fit.
If you rather pull focus to your waist, try the maroon satin cotton pocket dress with a contrasting or a neutral colour belt for a snug fit. For a more formal attire, try the printed white cotton shirt which can be tucked into a pencil skirt or a wide-legged trousers.
You should try avoiding high neck blouses and over crowded necklines as they would add more bulk to your bustline. You should also try to avoid trousers with a lot of details at the hip. Since your waist and hip possess the natural curves, it is not needed to add details in any of these areas.
DO’S: V-neck shirts, bust fitting blouses, pencil skirts, fitted dresses, wide-leg trousers, bootcut denims.
DON’TS: High neck blouses, detailed necklines and trousers.
