A short story — video prompt from A Taste for Life
I used to walk these woods all Summer. It was the year my husband and I split. He left, and so did I. I told no one what was happening. I simply packed a bag, grabbed my purse, put my cell phone in my back jeans pocket, and tossed the red, plaid blanket hanging on my rocking chair over my shoulder. I walked outside to the car, opened the door, sat inside, put the key in the ignition, and drove away.
It was the best decision in my life. I do miss him and think of him from time to time. I am glad we left us in those woods. I wonder if he ever walks that trail anymore.
