Surround Yourself with People Who Hold You to a Higher Standard than You Hold Yourself
Benjamin P. Hardy

I love this! There used to be an old saying, “You can’t soar with the eagles if you surround yourself with turkeys.” It’s so true and applies to everything. If you want to succeed financially, surround yourself with successful people. If you want to lose weight, surround yourself with fit people or others who are serious about it too. What I’ve had to figure out is, how to go from a 9–5 to being a self-employed artist. I don’t know any entrepreneurs or artists who make a living on their art alone (most have some kind of side gig). However, in this day and age, the internet makes the world so much smaller. It is entirely possible to stay connected to folks like yourself or others like Elon Musk, Gary Vaynerchuk, or Marie Forleo through their podcasts, blog posts, and newsletters. There are a gazillion Facebook groups geared towards folks with the entrepreneurial mind. If you’re active on these pages and various sites, you get feedback from others and can be uplifted and positively influenced to stay on track. There really is no excuse!
