The Internet of Poorly Working Things
Jean-Louis Gassée

Good news — there are IoT companies doing great things to ensure they get IT right! Some, that I have personal experience with, use my company’s simulation framework to wrap their client/device code, stub in all of the inputs and automate realistic and random activity, instrument everything, and run actual activity against their entire complex stack continuously at scale.

Essentially we help them “bring the wild inside” and they are rock solid before their IoT goes to the field. Testing production in development. They get that poor performance risks everything. Here’s hoping that the rubbish products don’t entirely ruin the credibility and promise of IoT.
