After iOS, it’s on Android that we release the second version of our powerful handwriting calculator. With even smarter functionalities and display options, get ready to do math like never before.

The Android robot is reproduced or modified from work created and shared by Google and used according to terms described in the Creative Commons 3.0 Attribution License.

In Calculator 2, the handwriting application that builds on the best of its predecessor, you can expand calculations on several lines, solve many operations at a time, and reuse previous numbers or calculations in the most intuitive manner.

What’s New with Calculator 2?

  • Multiline

This feature was highly demanded by users of Calculator 1. Multiline lets you develop long equations on multiple lines or write several calculations on the canvas. Write as much as you need, drag-and-drop results of previous calculations, expand an equation by writing more signs and numbers, etc. Multiline is a great tool for solving math problems that require several calculation steps!

  • Display Mode

Whether you want to display your results in decimals, fractions, or mixed numbers, every option is available in Calculator 2. It’s not you who adapt to the calculator, but the calculator that adapts to you. Also, you may be more of a “⋅” person when it comes to the multiplication sign of your calculations, or perhaps not, you prefer the “x” sign. Just choose what works best for you and let Calculator 2 know your preference. The recognition will work even better.

  • Memory Bar

The memory bar will help you keep brain power for your math reasoning. Forget about writing your results somewhere or doing any memorization efforts. Simply drag-and-drop the numbers you want to keep in the memory bar, and, just the same way, bring them back onto the canvas whenever you need. To know where the memory bar is, have a look in the video further below.

  • History

The history will come in handy to reuse entire calculations. All your equations will be automatically saved in this location and ordered chronologically (today, yesterday, last week, before). A quick tap on your equation will transfer it back onto the canvas. Once it’s there, you’re free to change it or reuse part or all of it. And of course, you can delete the ones you don’t want to keep a trace of.

  • Canvas and Menus

For the revamped version of our application, we’ve replaced the old checkered canvas with a new one that looks like a whiteboard. And it’s for the best. The new canvas is at the same time less distracting and more appealing.

Last but not least, to welcome more functionalities while preserving great navigation throughout the application, we’ve also implemented a dismissible side panel with functional menus. Access all your settings and options in a few taps, and get a clear overview of how you’ve customized your application in no time.

In a Nutshell

In Calculator 2, you can go through entire math workflows with the least distraction and the best productivity tools. The editing gestures such as rewrite or scratch-to-erase are here to help, and you don’t need extra notebooks or paper to store information. The app does it all.

From Wednesday, February 6, we invite you to download Calculator 2 directly on Google Play. The application, whose predecessor was downloaded more than 50 million times with an average rating of 4.5, will be free until February 13!
