Thought of the day. . .
It’s been a minute since my last post, over a month to be precise…! Life… Life was happening, time keeps moving and as we all know, time stops for no one, so here we are!!
Over the last few weeks and especially the last few days, this is something that I have been reminded of, in one way or another! I have been reminded time and time again, that…time does not stop.
So today, I am chilling out at home and scrolling through my phone, ya know, as we all do and Timehop reminded me of this very notion!
Time stops for no one! Whether we want it to or not, whether we feel like it or not! Whether we don’t feel like getting out of our Pyjamas, whether we feel like dressing up and painting the town… The clock is always ticking!
Anyway, let’s rewind back to exactly 1 year ago today; 21st October 2016. According to Timehop, I found myself in Knightsbridge. Here is a photo I took that day. Bright lights and Harrods in all of its glamour! Pretty!
I can’t remember what I was doing in Knightsbridge that day, but I can tell you what my thought process was as I walked down the perfectly lit Brompton Road. I learnt a very valuable lesson, or rather, I was reminded of 3 ‘time lessons’ that I already knew;
to treasure my time,
to spend it very wisely,
to not waste even a second of it! Ever!
The photo that popped up on Timehop today is this:
We have all heard the saying that ‘time is precious’ and we all know this, but I guess the difficulty is in applying this to real life!! For me, today’s Timehop reminded me of those little things I need to keep practising, so that I can use my time wisely, so that I can keep looking back on memories in my life and not feel like my time could have been better spent. . .
Ways I now spend my valuable time;
I worry less about your opinion, especially if I have not asked for it! (Ohh Sassy I hear you say! lol) but seriously, one thing I have learnt over the years is that people will disagree with you or not like your decisions, but that’s okay. That’s life fam!
I don’t waste time doing things I genuinely don’t want to do. If I don’t want to do something, I will just say so… It is just as okay to say NO, as it is to say YES. I have so much more respect for people that will say NO from the outset, if that’s what they mean deep down because at least there is a level of transparency there and you know where you stand with them! Right!?!?….
I remove myself from from uncomfortable and negative situations as quickly as possible and will not engage in any tomfoolery, aint nobady got time for that babes! Distancing ourselves from drama is a sign of maturity and not arrogance…
In friendship, I will make as much time for you as you make for me. It really is as simple as that. If you want to make the time you will and if you can’t make the time, then I guess that’s that! I learnt the hard way on this one too! ha! It took me a long time to realise that, part of growing up means that priorities and circumstances change and again, this is okay.
No truer words have been spoken than these by Meryl Streep, the Bawse that she is!! (Click on photo to read the words)
When all is said and done guys and gals, we all have our goals to achieve and things to do, so let’s crack on and get on with it!
Let’s all ‘Dream big, stay focused, work hard and surround ourselves with good people’’.
Lots of love;
