Are your feet shedding like a snake? These might be the reasons
With the winters bidding us a long adieu, it’s time to take your feet out of hiding and let them bask in the glory. But now that they’re out and on display, you might want to address an impending issue many of us end up suffering from, peeling skin!
So, we came up with five possible reasons why your feet might be peeling, just for you to be careful!
Fungal Infections- One of the most common reasons of peeling feet is a fungal infection. It has been seen that a lot of times these fungal infections camouflages as peeling skin and you may not have the itchiness, so you might not even know it’s a fungal infection. So, if your skin starts mysteriously peeling for no good reason, you better get it checked right away.
Sweaty Exercise Routine- Too much perspiration and damp environments can lead to foot infections, which in turn leads to peeling. Which loosely translated means, your gym regimen, especially if you’re into hot yoga, can contribute to your peeling feet. If you’re doing any exercise barefoot, or if you’re sharing a mat, or even if you’re doing hot yoga in a humid environment it can lead to bacterial or fungal infection.
Strappy Heels- Strappy shoes in summer is a love affair! But every woman who hasn’t properly broken in her new heels yet can vouch that snug footwear can cause you some serious friction. And you already know that anything that causes friction can cause blisters, which ultimately results in scaling or peeling of the skin. Your heels aren’t the only culprit. Flip flops can also cause you discomfort and peeling.
Sunburns- Obviously you don’t go to the beach with the intentions of ending up with a red, painful-to-touch sunburn. But while you might be an expert in slathering sunscreen onto your face, back, and shoulders, your feet always get ignored. So, the next time you dip your feet in the ocean, maybe reapply your sunscreen. Don’t let your feet be on the receiving end of dangerous UV rays!
Dehydration- Dehydration can make you feel tired, decrease your metabolism, cause breakouts, and yes, cause your feet to peel, too! So, if you’re not hydrated enough, your skin starts to flake off everywhere on our bodies.
