Thicker Tiles For Floor
One has to know that there is a difference between the tiles which are used on floors and on walls. The tiles used to decorate walls are much thinner than the tiles used to do the floorings. In case of floorings, popular tiles are the most popular choice as it maintains uniformity at the base. The ceramic tiles that are mostly used have a matte finish and thus the floor looks decent. If it would have been glossy and glazy, then it would not be a very slip resistant tile. In case of flooring strictly slip resistant tiles are needed and better if one can go for water resistant as well. There are corner effects and round effects tiles which depends how the edge of a particular tile is. It is better to use round edge tiles so that the corners of a room floor looks even.
Different Types Of Tiles Used For Flooring
Floor Tiles can be of different varieties and colors. One can go for quarry tiles which have an unglazed ceramic finish and are mostly brownish, reddish or buff in color. These tiles go very well when doing the floors of a living room or outer halls. If someone wants to be a bit different, they can also go for terracotta tiles, which has this brownish and reddish tinge and also have a mud effect in the finishing. Then there are mosaic tiles which has a bit of a grainish finish. Mostly these tiles come in an open sheet and can be laid parallel to do the flooring. These tiles are more apt for the bedrooms or studies to give it an elegant and relaxed look. Mostly these tiles are square in shape, but round, hexagonal and interlocking shapes are also available.
Tiles should be cleaned on a regular interval, be it on the wall or on the floor. Regular clean water is the best thing to do the cleaning.
