Here are the 5 important life lessons to learn from English Vinglish:-

Knowing English and Intelligence are different things

This message was central to English Vinglish. Many people judge another person’s worth based on his or her ability to speak English. That is just plain wrong. Someone who speaks a language other than English is just as smart as someone who speaks English, and there is no reason to judge them differently because of the language they prefer.

Self-Love is the most important trait you must have

In one of the most touching scenes of English Vinglish, Shashi advises that when you stop loving yourself, your life becomes dull. It is only when you learn to love yourself that your old life seems new again. It is a lesson everyone can benefit from learning. If you do not love yourself, it is impossible to love others.

Will-power is everything in life

If you want to succeed at something, you have to develop willpower. Shashi was a shy housewife in Pune who started a small business. Even though New York is a big city, she enrolled in an English-speaking class and learned the language by herself. She went to class on the subway and walked around the city, looking for the address and asking people if they knew where it was.

Never Ever Compromise on your Passion

Many people struggle to figure out their passion. Consider yourself lucky if you know where your heart lies. Once you know your passion — never give up or compromise on that. Because that’s the real You. It would have been very easy for Shashi to order those Motichoor Laddoos from an Indian sweet shop. But she promised her niece — Meera that she will prepare her special Motichoor Laddoos at her wedding. That’s why she missed her final English Test that day and went ahead to make laddoos as those laddoos were spoiled accidentally.

Use Insult to Improve

Shashi had been disrespected by her daughter Sapna and her husband Satish, but she used those harsh words to improve her communication skills in the English language. Knowing a foreign language and excelling in it takes a lot of strength and she did it to better herself. In the future, she will pave new ways for herself.
