Hear Me?
Hearing is a gift not many are bestowed with. To really hear, one must truly listen. To listen to the unfortunate sounds of the universe, one must possess the gift of sheer audioception. Sounds can be deceiving so one needs the gift of wisdom to sort through the haze. Adapting to the sounds causes most agony. The sounds continue to ring in your ears, reminding you that you exist. Lecturing you on the worthlessness of your life. Telling tales of all the nothingness in your life to the point where you can no longer bare to hear them. But, the sounds are merciless. They never back down, they never give up and they never waver. They believe in their ability to torture those who can hear them. They trust that their echoes will reach the farthest corners of the universe and their reverberations will touch the core of all that is.
Sounds taunt you. “Destroy me if you can,” they say. They spin and dance around you and feel your insides. They curse you for being there to listen to them. They love you for creating them. No one hears any sounds when no one exists. That is the premise this universe was created upon. Sounds don’t exist without us. They wait for someone to pluck them and without us, they starve and die.
