How does VR change the adult entertainment industry?
No, this is not a post about the difficulties adult models might have to go through.
Hey there! This is Week 4 of my blog series where I keep myself accountable by keeping an online journal of sorts. You can read the beginning of this story — Why I quit my job to study, volunteer and travel.

If you’re wondering how VR changes porn or how VR porn is made, then you need to watch this video by Wired. There you go. Elephant in the room, addressed.
Wait, what? What are you reading? Relax. Take a deep breath. Breathe in…1…2…3… hold…1…2…3..now out…1...2…3. Feels better right? So here’s why this post is called what it is. Curiosity. I am curious. About everything. While it’s fun, it becomes annoying after a point.
I saw the video above, not because I have a Rift or a Vive ready to go with some fun content, no. But to understand how it impacts things around me and how I can identify and capitalize on it before someone else does. Most people don’t get it. When they don’t get it, they won’t ask questions like —
- What can you possibly learn by transcribing subtitles for a media company? Well, you can get paid to watch a movie or a show! Apart from that, you can learn how organizations are making use of a connected world of individuals who appreciate the ability to earn money on the go. Learn how they are able to get work done by an army of freelances. Interested? Check out Sfera Studios, login, take test and pass. You’ll get files to work on. Finish it. Get paid. Bam! (You’re welcome)
- How will Microsoft HoloLens change Mixed Martial Arts(MMA) or how you learn to play the guitar? MMA is all about angles, direction and balance. Once the trainer teaches you the basics like stance and how to throw a punch it is up to the student to figure out how it is done. Corrections if any with regard to the posture angle etc is done by the trainer or master in person. Same for the guitar.(Not really, but you get the point!) HoloLens will remove the requirement for the trainer or master to be there to correct us moving forward as they can virtually be there to correct using moving forward with this wonderful tech. The internet revolutionized how we learn concepts and theory with fantastic work being done by the likes of Khan Academy. HoloLens will do that for areas that involve personal presence to learn. At least, that is my prediction.
- What can you learn about strategy by looking at a small dingy restaurant? The basics of running a business of course. Makes you think about goal congruence with regard to delivery to excellent and clean food (mission) when the waiter or the cooks are not washing their hands or greeting their customers with a smile. Succession planning when the head chef or the grumpy Dosa maker leaves without training someone to eventually take his place. Customer service when the nicest and most courteous waiter gets the biggest tip from his customers.
The list goes on and on, the point? I make connections because I am curious and ask questions. Look for and make those connections. One day it will hit you like a tonne of bricks. While it has been an ongoing connection or realization process, I still await my eureka moment.
That is why there is a Polyhedron net as the image for this post, because this post is about the interconnected nature of things and there was no better way to depict it. Everything impacts something, it is called the butterfly effect. No, seriously. SERIOUSLY! It’s a thing.
Look for and make those connections.
Done with putting my thoughts down, here is what happened this week 4.
- Continued to study at 6 hours a day. (I know, need to really pick it up. I am working on it. I promise)
- Attended my first week of MMA classes. It was absolutely awesome. That being said, the first week or the beginning of something is always hard. In my case it has been hell. The pain from the workouts are excruciating. But hey, nobody told me it was going to be easy. I got through the week, that’s what matters.
- Saw the Game of Thrones recap, getting ready for the episode tomorrow!!!
- Had my first Mango of the season! (The little things, remember?)
- Almost went broke. INR 500 and counting. Yup, that salary credit would be nice right about now. Oh, wait. I quit. >.< (Remembering that this is life on my terms)
