Don’t get too caught up with the hosting. If you go with a bigger one (like Bluehost) you’ll most likely be fine, and you can always change your mind later. A bad host is better to start with than not starting at all. And if you don’t want to have to care about it at all there are other options like WordPress.com, Wix, Squarespace, and as you mentioned blogger and Medium. If you want to go self-hosted, but aren’t sure what to do right now, I’d recommend to start with WordPress.com since the transition to self-hosted WordPress (WordPress.org) will be easier.

As for everything having been written before, I’ve heard/read somewhere (can’t remember where from) that there isn’t something as being original. Everything you’ve ever seen, read or heard have already been done a thousand times over in more ways you can think of. But none of it has been done by you yet.

Blogging isn’t so much about the actual content than about the author and their way of presenting it. I wasn’t the first blogger, and this isn’t the only story like it out there, but it’s my story and I’m the only one who could’ve presented it in this way. That’s what your readers are looking for.

It’s amazing that you’ve found the joy in writing
Good luck with everything!
