THE UNIFYING POWER OF THE HEART –WRITE AS PREFACE
FROM MY ESSAYS:SPEAK TO ME, SOUL
DEDICATED TO MR.PRESIDENT,D. TRUMP AND HIS ADMINISTRATION
It is in the heart that one can discover the serenity and tranquility of the human depth: love. Hate and death are but the fruits of the rigidity of reason. The heart is the guiding light to a true joyous life. A man in the China Town, Los Angeles, California, has established a grocery market that caters only to singles. Before shopping they must register for a match- up opportunity. Wow! Indeed, man’s ultimate need is not a dozen of eggs, a bag of potatoes and a gallon of milk. Rather, he urgently needs someone to share himself with; sharing is what sustains and gives meaning to life.
— An American soldier in Iraq has fallen in love with a young lady whose father he had killed in the name of reason. Indeed, the limitations of reason ultimately yield to the overwhelming power of the heart.
— The abundance of the heart’s goodness has inspired a black preacher to be so creative: He has pledged to pay five dollars for every white who will attend any of his Sunday services; and two dollars for any service of the weekdays. In so doing, he wanted to see blacks and whites sitting next to one another in the hope that the physical closeness will bring out their spiritual one.
The grossest sin of modern man consists of giving too much attention to the wilderness of the mind at the expense of cultivating the garden of his heart. The heart invites; the mind divides, deprives and finally kills. For so long the mind has misled, poisoned and divided us. It is about time to experience the curative and unifying grace of the heart.
Lord, I beg your mercy to grant us a short memory for the trespasses of others, so we can experience the healing power of your love. Help us to learn how to forgive others; so they may forgive us, to love them; so they may love us. Lord, may your grace control all our acts; it is in your grace that we find ours. May the gates of our hearts open wide to all! Only there can we find true security and everlasting love for ourselves and for others.
