What Should Israel DO?

A few days ago I wrote the following on my Facebook wall “I’m utterly disappointed in “Natoyobama (My new name for OBAMA)” and in myself for voting for him not once but twice. Also, I don’t view the Nobel Prize as prestigious or noble anymore, for the simple fact that Natoyobama seemed qualified enough to win the Nobel Peace Prize. Lastly, Israel had a shortage of missiles to kill Palestinian children so Congress just sealed another boost ($225 million with your tax dollars) to Israel’s Iron Dome missile defense system. #IStandForGaza” I got a few likes, and a few comments. And two of my friends asked me the following question “What Israel should do?”

Here’s my answer on what Israel should do?

1. End to the Israeli blockade of Gaza and the release of its prisoners.

2. Gaza’s economy is completely crippled, Israel is not allowing for civilian infrastructure and there’s a shortage of water supplies

3. The majorities of people in Gaza are relying on humanitarian aid because of the severe unemployment, and as we know that can’t last forever, which means there’s no future for Gaza if it stays as is.

4. This is not a political issue anymore. It’s a humanitarian issue. Israel’s military has taken too many lives; has bombarded hospitals while in ceasefire. Israel must stop killing innocent people. Israel must stop killing children.

Finally in simple non-political words: imagine, a group of people force themselves into your home, build a much taller and bigger house in your backyard. Their house will block the sun, will kill your plants, and will take your and your family’s freedom away. Then one day, you get so sick and tired of living like a prisoner in your own home that you will start an argument, demanding the right to live freely. Well, since they know that police (USA&West) is on their side and no one is there to help you, they will turn the argument into a fight, and the fight into a war. They will kill not just your family, but also everyone you know. And the whole neighborhood will cowardly stay quiet and won’t intervene. Then they will agree to ceasefire over and over, but still will bully you to death, and break the ceasefire and kill you for real. Why did that group of people forced themselves in your backyard in the first place? What could be their excuse? One very simple answer is that they were told their ancestors owned parts of the land that your house was built on!!

Lastly, I highly suggest if you are truly interested in knowing more in general and want to be more objective about Gaza genocide then please read the news and blog posts from sources other than American media.
American media is poison to people’s intelligence. It’s bias not only about international affairs but also with domestic policies and social issues. And when the media does not cover politics, guess what’s the big news about? I’m sure you guessed it right, Kim Kardashian’s weight-loss, love life, so on….
Is not that appalling?
