Irena, that was a fantastic read! The part about architecture reminded me the brilliant English architect A.W.N Pugin and his controversial book “Contrast” from 1836. Pugin compared between the low quality of arts and design, and the decline in human moral and society during the Industrial Revolution. Comparing between the noble edifices of the middle ages and contemporary buildings of the present day back then he literally draw the connection between good and bad human values:
