Oh, Hope, this brought tears to my eyes and made me so angry…How can this man run a place that is supposed to be solely devoted to the care and support of these children, and then deny them such an opportunity. I can just imagine your devastation…And yet, you have made a difference. You absolutely have. The love and nurturing you provided is as necessary to their thriving as anything else. And I think listening to, expressing, and embodying that soft heart is part of the beauty and pain of being in Tanzania. We do not live in a culture that supports such vulnerable and tender open-heartedness. Wishing you a gentle re-entry even as you prepare to head to law school…and a fire that never loses its spark.
