Hi! This is the inaugural community newsletter of Naksh Marketplace! Our newsletters will be a series of bi-monthly blogs where we update our community about anything and everything that has been up with Naksh. From product developments to event attendances, we talk about it all here.

Highlights

We are delighted to announce that the Naksh BETA version went live earlier this year at the ETHDenver event. Since the launch, our team has been working constantly to make the platform more refined. We organized a feedback channel for our users, where the team received valuable input from our users.

Naksh also organized an NFT giveaway — where we distributed Mandala artworks to users as an attempt towards expanding our community.

Website

Naksh NFT Marketplace launched its first live version on 15th February, 2021 at the ETH Denver event. The website went live with over 100 NFTs minted from 20 different artists — and all the artworks at the launch were Traditional Indian artworks which cannot be digitally generated. We sold 6 artworks in the span of a week.

The first BETA launch only supported NEAR Protocol, as the aim was to also have more users getting on board and familiar with the protocol.

Harmony Integration

In March, Naksh received a Launch Grant from Harmony. This will lead to the integration of Harmony blockchain on the Naksh marketplace — and the team is currently working on launching the harmony testnet. Harmony is an open and fast blockchain whose mainnet runs Ethereum applications with 2-second transaction finality and 100 times lower fees. It is our first ERC-20 chain.

Feedback and User testing.

After Naksh’s BETA launch in February, we decided that the best way to get sincere feedback was to approach our users, which led us to organizing the Naksh User Testing program. We received feedback from over 200 members, which was followed by one-one-one discussions with some users to help us understand the problems better and discuss possible solutions.

We want to take this opportunity to sincerely thank all the users who took time and gave us detailed feedback on how we can improve Naksh and its functioning.

Roadmap

The coming months look intense for the team as we work towards launching V2 of Naksh Marketplace — the major highlights of V2 are that it will include self-minting and a secondary marketplace. We will also soon witness the integration of Harmony on our marketplace, which will be followed by efforts to expand the community further.

Community presence and growth

Naksh’s launch at ETH Denver was an amazing opportunity for the founders to expand their networks and get familiar with the ecosystem. We showcased our NFTs at the Satellite makerspace for the last 4 days — where all other major blockchains were present.

The founders also had a stall and represented Naksh at the Namaste NFT Event in Bangalore, which was a significant step towards expanding Naksh’s presence in the Indian NFT and Web3 ecosystem. Much like the Namaste NFT Event, the team also hosted a stall at the SDNFT Con, and was also present at ETH Amsterdam.

Naksh’s presence at various networking events is updated on all our Social Media handles, and we would love it if you come say Hi to us at the next event!

Naksh also hosted a giveaway where we distributed a series of Mandala artworks as NFTs, in an attempt to expand our community. Users were required to follow a series of simple steps in order to be eligible.

Founders

Alongside working on Naksh and it’s progress, the Founders Nivedita and Srilakshmi have been working on The Phoenix Guild — which is a group of women who want to help other women in tech and non-tech roles empower and educate themselves in order to utilize the opportunities in WEB3.
