The Andela Experience

Day 3 of Boot camp. What a day! So much to do yet so little time. What I learnt today is that you can always rely on Andela to push you, always you, show you that there is always something new to learn, a new way to get things done and that is something that really draws me to their program.

While today was especially challenging for several reasons, I realised something, this program is not for the faint hearted. The boot camp is structured in such a way that you have to have a certain level of commitment and passion to the cause otherwise you end up crashing and burning. I realised that it’s also part of the test. It seems that through this process, Andela is able to gauge whether or not you can keep up with a fast paced work setting or not.

This definitely gives an insight into what life at Andela could actually be like, what one has to go through and put up with at one point or another. While it shows the pressures that we are likely to face, it also models the level of collaboration and team work that is required for one to survive in Andela. So as an aspiring Andelan, I know that I have brace myself what lies ahead. It is probably much harder, but is definitely much greater and as for me, that is definitely what I signed up for.
