Ms. Johnstone: To say your death-wish article against McCain is unprofessional is putting it way too lightly. You must be a terribly unhappy person to have written such hateful drivel against John McCain. What you said is worse than the kind of uninformed and unqualified crap comments I’ve read from the obviously uneducated and ignorant far-righter Trump supporters who comment on political articles in the NYT and WashPost and other MSM. Did your mother take you off the breast too soon or something or your dad make fun of you or maybe he did something worse? Were you made fun of for being fat as a child? Do you take medication for depression and are you seeing a therapist?

My more personal criticism of your article and attack in the form rhetorical questions above are totally unnecessary and inappropriate. I could easily make these ignorant remarks much more personal and “low-life sleazy” without a lot of effort and without knowing you. But maybe you’ve got such a hard shell that you could give a F, right? And I’m sure you’ve had much worse directed at you. And who cares? You don’t know me and I know nothing about you personally or even professionally and don’t want to. I only wanted to give an example of what I believe is the same sort of nasty and hateful dung you vomited up in your wishes for McCain’s death. As you know and others have already commented, you could have said all the things you did about McCain and not spelled out wishes for his death. Realize you’re doing ZERO for your political/world views by writing this article and your “no apology” response follow-up to readers criticisms. As the saying goes: just because you have the freedom to say something does not mean you should. I can only hope that one day you will see how way off-base and needlessly pointless this kind of hate/death-wish writing is, (and maybe even how much you didn’t or don’t understand about the world.)
