THE WORD OLD IS BANNED FROM MY HOUSE…

EMBRACING AGEING/EMBRACING CHANGE

I woke up this morning to the sounds of birds humming and chatting outside my window. A slow and comforting wave of joy gently caressed my cheek leaving behind this realization:

"An idea most of us are missing during our stint in this lifetime is that the "ability" to age is the #1 gift life has to offer.

To be raised by parents who protected us, to enjoy a long, healthy and productive life, and to shed naiveté and a few foibles along the way is indeed a blessing.

Every 10 years brings it's own challenges and rewards, and what a pleasure it is to have the ability to see all of this in action.

Ageing is change and change keeps us from becoming stagnant like a pool of rancid, poisonous water.

Change is freedom and represents the "new" - a sort of rebirth.

I am learning to embrace change and to enjoy all the beauty it brings.
