The concept of the grid in architecture has been widely used, ranging from a proportional system, to a mere modular screen, to the rectangular network of streets in urban planning.

These two pictures are central park, which is a modern building used grid in Sydney. I looked up to it to take the picture to show its height. And I took a part of this building to stress the appearance of grid.

Grid is one common factory in abstraction photography, combinate horizontal line with vertical line in a organized frame. Andreas Gursky often shots from an elevated perspective and produced on an epic scale of the picture of grid.

These are two of his photography, which name are Paris Montparnasse and May Day V. These products show the high density of windows of the building, which as the same as grid to stress the abstraction like my product.

Compared mine with his, we can see that both buildings use a number of glass windows to show the frame of grid. Because of this, the high density of windows of the building does not have a mess performance. It is more commercial which means its appearance is simple (only use one pattern ), therefore, a large sum of modern city have been used this frame to design their buildings and urban planning to show modernisation.
