Hello! My name is Anan. Today i want to share you about my amazing 3-month internship experience at Blibli.com.

The story starts in February 2019

Beginning with my 6th semester in Faculty of Computer Science, Universitas Indonesia, i need to prepare for practical work and looking for internship vacancies. I choose Blibli.com for the first company i’m found out about. The first thing i’m interested from Blibli.com is the “RESPECT” values. Yes “RESPECTS” are:

Risk taking, Excellence, Serving, Passionate & Proud, Encourage Growth and Innovations, Customer Focus, Teamwork

Those values make me believe that i can get a lot of experience from here. Shortly after i’m apply for Front-End Engineer Intern, responded with an interview invitation from HR in early April, attending interview, and informed by HR that i’m accepted as Front-End Engineer Intern for June — August period. My sentence may simple but it was so exciting and challenging!

The interview i take was attended by Blibli.com developer team. Begin with the CV, the interviewer and i discuss about content of my CV. After that we continue with several test. The test are HTML CSS JavaScript test and some basic algorithm test. The interview test me to perform different ways to implement function and finding errors. Most importantly, i enjoyed the interview and got some new insights of coding from the interviewer.

June comes, the real thing starts

The first day of internship starts! All internship participants begin with briefing for internship program and introduced to their team. i’m introduced to my assigned team, it’s Team Manila.

Team Manila(June 2019)

Team Manila responsible in developing mobile app for merchant named Merchant Tool Application (MTA) and developing API for MTA.

Team Manila consist of internship employee and full-time employee which give exciting and supportive vibes upon working. I am glad that i was assign to this wonderful team!

Now let’s talk more about working environment

Along the journey, there’s no limitation for me to perform. In my project, there are some parts that have not yet been developed such as UI design and APIs. Development lead offer me to contribute in the development of the UI design by design the wireframe and in development of the APIs. It’s all up to me to take it or not. Even if i apply for front-end internship, but if i willing and ready to learn more, i can take it.

“Of course i will take it, this is my chance!”

For me, this is why developers generalized as Software Developer Engineer (SDE). With willing and hard work i got so much experience not only as a front-end engineer but also as back-end engineer and UX designer!

Most of developers here are young people. They’re supportive, fun and unique. Each team have their own style for creating the working environment enjoyable and less stressful.

Treatment by company is also great! Everyday we got breakfast in the morning and lunch for lunch break. In my opinion this is good to maintain employee’s performance because it reduces employee’s break overhead like going out to find lunch. Also it gives me chance to get along with other employees easier. The company also give each team allocation to have fancy lunch every 2 months which is awesome!

There’s also events for employees like anniversary of Blibli.com or birthday of CEO Mr. Kusumo Martanto where we happily celebrate it with all employees, having some treats, and some fun games. There is also bazaar of returned items with special price for employees which is been awaited wait.

In conclusion, it is a very great and exciting experience to work with Blibli.com! I suggest you to try and have exciting experience at Blibli.com!
