Does the Blogger platform get better ranking from Google than WordPress?
This is the most asked question in Google, when a newbie enters Blogging field.
Google does not rank the blogs looking at the platform from where it is published.
So what does Google look in a blog post to rank it higher in search results?
- Content Quality
- Search Engine Optimization[SEO]
- User Retention
Fun fact is that one of my website www.myrandomproject.xyz is hosted in Blogger itself and is getting good traffic.
Now let’s see what all this factors that Google look while Ranking posts
1. Content Quality
Now you maybe thinking why Google looks at Content Quality as ranking factors?
Quality Content is like a Diamond
Obviously Google would prefer putting diamonds in their search results than some stones right?
Google’s main aim is to solve people’s problem and give them good user experience. So they prefer to rank blogs with in depth content.
2. Search Engine Optimization[SEO]
SEO stands for search engine optimization. Which is the art of ranking high on a search engine in the unpaid section, also known as the organic listings.
Let me break that down even further:
When it comes to SEO, there’s you, the search engine, and the searcher. If you have an article about how to start blog in 2020, you want the search engine (which, in 90% of all cases, is Google) to show it as a top result to anyone who searches for the phrase “ how to start blog in 2020.”
SEO is the magic you have to work on your article in order to make Google very likely to include your post as one of the top results whenever someone searches for that keyword.
3. User Retention
User retention refers to the duration of time for which reader remains in your blog post.
