Promises.

You assured me that it will happen,
You assured me that it will remain,
Alas! I knew your assurance would never sustain.
Six years down the lane,
It was happiness and joy in our time,
And you vowed it will stay for a lifetime.
Blinded by the false truth,
I carry on waiting,
Living every moment in your longing
This solitude is dreary,
I no longer stop by your thought,
For your promise was ever neglected.
