I watch the Oscar ceremony every year since 7th grade, even if before the college, I can only watched the condensed version on Chinese Central Television 6. After I get into college, I can watch the illegal download version on my computer. (Because I have my own computer after got into college) As the way I watch a lot of American movies. I think the ceremony is just a simple promotion way, the show is good, and the sponsors also need such a big event to promote their brand, from guerilla ads to the brand of those actresses’ dress. That’s just a part of the industry I think. But I totally agree with you that such ceremonies should be held as less as possible to help the world.

One writing technical suggestion is, I think you can spread your opinion in the beginning of the article, not the middle of it. In the beginning, you can just provide a kind of emotion of your idea a little, then more and more. If you present the idea in the middle of the article, the whole piece would be like cut into two parts.
