Time is our limited resource and should be efficiently managed. If time is managed properly, the easier it is to achieve daily goals.
Effective time management helps you become more productive at school, work and personal life.
Here are some tips to help you manage your TIME and have a Productive Day;
To-do-list
The first step to managing your time is to know what to do. The key to avoiding an unproductive day is in planning ahead. As a student, writing down everything needed to be done should be a hobby as writing down your goals plants the goal in your brain. A study shows there’s a brain to hand connection that comes into effect.
Consider getting a journal where you write your daily/weekly activities and ticking it as you complete it. Ticking tasks when done provides a sense of fulfillment.
Set up Routines
This means setting up rules or guides that are mostly going to last for a long time. Example; “I would read every morning when I wake up”
“I would exercise daily”
Successful people do activities that tend to last for long terms.
Prioritize your tasks
Do one task at a time to get better results. Prioritizing your tasks increases productivity, produces quality results, and builds up momentum. Focus on the NOW, LATER, and THEN.
Set Deadlines
Deadlines impact your time. It forces you to organize your tasks, limit distractions and a way to measure progress. This helps in efficiently managing your time.
Sweet and Relaxing Rest
Research has proven that a lack of rest affects your concentration and overall health which leads to less productivity and bad time management. Sleeping at least 5–8hours daily keeps the body active. Take breaks when necessary, and YES you can go through social media during breaks.
Eat healthy meal and stay hydrated
Research suggests that healthy food has not only physical but mental health benefits on humans. This helps prevent disease and gives students enough energy every day to manage their time.
Drinking enough water maximizes physical health, physical performance, brain function, weight loss and may prevent headaches.
Start Early
This would have been the first for effective time management, but you have to make a decision before action and that’s why a To-do-list is the first action to take.
Waking up early has a lot of benefits which helps you in managing your time properly; less distraction from fellow students, meditation ( time to think of what next: Me time), stress less day cause you started early and the brain is more active at early hours therefore. retains a lot of information.
Lastly, figure out your most productive time and set a 30–50 minutes clock to stick to that one task.
Time management is not an easy task in this digital and noisy era full of distraction. But, with great effort and consistency you can get more done when you manage your time. Everyone has the same 24hours in a day but not all achieve their goals and you would not want to be part of such a team.
