What was her sin for Princess Kaguya when she had lived in the moon before? It’s dream to live on the earth where is a bird, an animal, a plant, a water, a soil and human being has emotion. Yes, our earth is the impure world or kegare (kind of a smudginess) for people living in the moon which is the metaphor of the world after death.
Princess Kaguya realized everything has life on the earth is not kegare at all finally.
Powder snow is a kind of the symbol of pureness. The moon is metaphor of a land fulfilled with powder snow for me. The dream to live there forever means I’m a dead man. I have to accept all kegares for living my real life.
