How I want myself to be in 23:59, 31/12/14
Some kind of resolution and whatnot
Things are going better in life. My web information portal startup just got itself its very first client,*Woohoo!* My midnight food delivery is doing quite well on its preparation to relaunch on Bandung, and soft opening on Bumi Serpong Damai.
Things are quite good, but not good enough. I am still lacking in self control, time management, and self discipline; aaand sometimes my emotion still got the best of me. Oh and a new desktop with state of the art graphic card is not good for your professional life *duh*, but it is very good in running Battle Field 4, Dota 2, and Starbound. So I got that goin’ for me, which is nice.
The lesson I learned in 2013 is to say “No” to the people who are expecting you to sit quietly and say yes. Being a Javanese descendant, it is my heritage and culture to sit quietly, don’t make a mess, just nod politely. Maybe doing that for almost 22 years of my life did get me somewhere, but its certainly not the best that I could be.
Another thing that I learned in 2013 is, how leaving your comfort zone can lead you somewhere magical. But, the thing is I didn’t left far enough. I didn’t travel enough. Even when I’m on the greatest city (yet) on earth. Oh yeah, in 2013, I learned that Steve Jobs is my role model; his misfits quote is just ahmazing.
So to round up this post, my first medium post, my first ever new year resolution I’m going to rant on my 2014 target.
- I will have a proportional body. (duh)
- I will travel more. (Baduy, Surakarta, India, and hopefully Japan)
- I will grow my startup and my delivery service (100k unique visitor/month by the end of the year, and revenue of 50 mil idr/month minimum)
- I will found one more startup on my name.
- I will thrive on my relationship.
So here is steve’s quote on misfits, rebels, and world changer. I know you can easily google them, but google is overrated anyway; although allow me to brag, I did get certified on Google Ads last year (its one hell of an achievement mate!).
“Here’s To The Crazy Ones. The misfits. The rebels. The trouble-makers. The round pegs in the
square holes. The ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of rules, and they have
no respect for the status-quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify, or vilify them.
About the only thing you can’t do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the
human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius.
Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world — are the ones who DO !
