Yes exactly. I think the biggest argument to say there are two sexes and intersex conditions (which is not actually a third gender but a diverse panoply of situations) is that there are no recorded accounts of actual hermaphrodites, that is to say those with both small sex cells and large sex cells, let alone with the secondary placental sexual characteristics common to humans. There are not as far as I know even recorded instances of men who lactate for proper mammalian purposes i.e. feeding young(lactating because of medical disorders is another kettle of fish).
