How it all started?

When you are a foodie and have a passion for travelling, it just takes you places. That’s how this quest started. When I informed my plan to travel to Dindugul to taste Biryani from the three best Biryani houses in town, my friend became equally excited about the trip and it just happened.

Dindugul Thalapakati Biryani taste:

Dindugul Biryani

A special blend of spices is used for the biryani. A type of short grain seeraga samba rice, called Parakkum Sittu and Kannivadi meat which comes from tender grass-fed goats makes the taste distinct. This rice, unlike basmati has no taste of its own, so it completely absorbs the flavours of the spices. The biryani also uses cube-sized mutton chicken pieces instead of big chunks which makes it so much yummy!

Ponram Biryani taste:

Ponram Biryani

Many people would not have heard about this biryani shop. Unlike other two biryani houses this one is popular among the locals more than people from other cities. The rice was spicy with a nice blend with ghee was packed with flavor and the meat, mutton in this case, was tender, falling off the bones and melting on the tongue.

Dindugul Venu Biryani:

Venu Biryani

Most express biryani parcel service, when we handed over the biryani parcel bill next second the provided the biryani parcel. The taste was not up to the hype as told by many may be due to over ghee used on it. But the quality of food and the meat was really good which made it worth our money.

Verdict:

I would prefer to have Dindugul thalapakati Biryani> Ponrom Biryani > Dindugul Venu Biryani according to my order of taste preference. Whereas many people would suggest the reverse order.
