Autumn: the season of great power
The power to change the story of its lush green surroundings to one made of vibrant oranges, scarlets and golds, until eventually, with the last leaves falling, the landscape’s summer silhouette is no longer recognisable.
We traipse through a blanket of leaves, wrapped up warmer than we needed to before, ready to face the cold northerly winds we know are coming. We get lost in our own thoughts now — in a lingering reminisce of those long summer nights spent beneath amber skies.
Sorrow. As the new life that arrived with the Spring, and flourished in the heat of the summer sun, begins to wither and fade.
But as we experience Autumn year upon year, we learn of its ways. Even as small children, we quickly discover that Autumn does not hold the finality that it appeared to characterise upon first glance.
Yes… Autumn holds great power, but not on its own, lest everything would cease to exist.
Autumn is here now… and it will come again…
