Pigs do fly or how it all started

The phrase “when pigs fly” is an adynaton — a figure of speech so hyperbolic that it describes an impossibility. The implication of such a phrase is that the circumstances in question (the adynaton, and the circumstances to which the adynaton is being applied) will never occur. [Wikipedia]
To start something besides my job, was a huge adynaton for me. I work really hard from Monday to Friday. During weekends, I just try to chill and restore my energy bank. But I could not escape the guilt feeling that I am wasting time and should do something with it. So, I decided that 2017 is a perfect year to put my passion for upcycling and creativity to work! And on February 5th I gained all my magic together and went live on Facebook to tell the world about my new project Second Magic — a media/visual platform and community for people who love to surround themselves with handmade and upcycled things. We take old stuff, most of the time “garbage”, and give it a new magical life. Because everything and everybody deserves a second chance.
Today, I am a day away from my second live jam and I decided that it will be nice to do a evaluation of the first project I created online, in front of couple of hundreds of people, “When Piggies Fly.” And for this you may need:

- A jar — I got a small one from pesto. The baby food ones are perfect.
- A couple of little piggies — I got them from an online store, but I am sure if you have children around you, they will find them for you.
- Pom poms — They will bring fluffiness to your project and will imitate the clouds.
- Cork — I used it for the top of the jar.
- Feathers — You got to have them! Our piggies need to fly high.
- Stars — But that is totally up to you, but I needed some magic in my project.
- And of course, glue.
STEP #1

Take some feathers and attach them to the back of these pink goddesses. You can attach a star at the bottom, but that is totally optional. If your jar is a little bit bigger, then put two piggies in it. If it’s like a jar from baby food, then better do one. After that you can take a piece of string and attach it too, so you can glue the top and piggies together. As you can see from pictures I used something similar to whatever the fishermen use.
STEP #2
Prepare your cloud! Make it as fluffy as possible. And to do that use as many pom poms as you can. To glue them down I used my magical glue gun. After it all sticks together make sure to attach our flying piggies too.

STEP #3
Now, since your pigs can fly it’s a matter of time that your magic will start working. So, for step #3 you just need to add some super stars, or you can leave your jar natural. I felt that I needed a little bit more more magic to my project.

STEP #4
We are almost done! All you need to do is put your flying piggies inside the jar and secure the top with super glue. Really! That’s it, folks! Well, except, I still got a couple of words to say. This project seems silly but for me is iconic! Just like the adynaton that basically tells you that something is impossible, I proved to my self that nothing is and I just need to focus and don’t let my dreams go. Hope that you will join me in this chaotic, creative and colorful journey!

P.S. If you have the opportunity, print some incredible stickers for the top of the jar. It just brings a little bit more magic to your project.
