Gal Gadot’s first Israeli drama series “Kathmandu” to stream worldwide on IZZY
Fans should get ready to see Gal Gadot in a whole new light. The actress who is widely known for her iconic Amazonian warrior role in “Wonder Woman” is set to return to the small screen in the Hebrew-language series dubbed “Kathmandu”. The series which originally aired in 2012 will premiere worldwide on IZZY, a streaming platform for Israeli content.
The film is an Israeli mini-series that has 13 episodes and shows the life of a Chabad Hasidic Jewish family that lives in Kathmandu, Nepal. The series is produced by, Reshet, an Israeli TV production company.
It explores their emotional and spiritual lives and brings together themes that transcend faith, community, and cultural identity.
Kathmandu follows the story of a young Chabad Hasidic couple that runs a Chabad house in Kathmandu, Nepal. The series explores their beliefs and determination to build in a foreign country. They come across many people and one of them is Yamit, played by Gadot. Yamit is looking for her missing sister, Opira. Her search connects with the couple’s work. The series shows Yamit’s feelings, her friendship with a former Israeli soldier.
What’s exciting about the show is that it will allow fans to get a sneak peek of Gadot’s early acting years in her first and only Israeli drama series before she blew up.
