I found My Tribe at NeuroGym
Day 6 of Natalie Sisson’s 10 Day Freedom Plan Blog Challenge tasks participants to begin finding their tribe and identify one or two people living the kind of life they want to live, why they find them inspiring, and the one question they would ask them if they met these people in real life.
Having recently found my tribe and its founder, John Assaraf, a leading behavioral and mindset expert who was featured in “The Secret,” I understand the impact of finding the people who understand and support you, and most importantly, inspire you to become greater.
John is a self-made millionaire who found something deep inside that enabled him to overcome humble beginnings and a teenage-thug lifestyle to build five multi-million dollar companies. He’s also a best-selling international author. He’s now the CEO of NeuroGym, which develops neuroscience-based brain retraining programs to help people develop their fullest human potential.
A little over five weeks ago I watched one of John’s NeuroGym Brain-a-thons, a combination of TED-like talks from leading world experts in neuroscience, motivation, and psychology coupled with marketing for NeuroGym’s programs in “Winning the Game of Money,” “Winning the Game of Fear,” “Winning the Game of Weight Loss.” You get the picture. The programs are comprised of cutting edge brain retraining audios, videos to build knowledge and skills, and most importantly, “VIP coaching and Support” offered through a Facebook forum of over 16,000 members from around the world that provides encouragement and coaching to participants.
My husband and I decided we needed to amp up our game in finances, so we signed up for “Winning the Game of Money.” We began the program the next day. There are 12 levels and each week we start a level on Monday, listening to the appropriate audio each day, watching that week’s video to build skills at least once during the week, and participating in the Facebook forum.
Participating in the forum is a key part of the program and we’re encouraged to do so on daily. Three or four times a week, John, or another member of his team posts “Innercizes,” techniques you can use to overcome obstacles and fears, or inspirational messages. John especially is a compelling speaker and watching him talk as he sits on his patio, drives along the beach, or gives you a mini-tour of Telluride, you get the feel of what it means to live an incredible life. And John is so likeable, friendly, and sincere, that instead of being envious you think, “I can do that too. That’s the life for me.”
Often these posts are live and forum members can ask questions that are answered in real-time. What an opportunity! Imagine asking leading world experts questions and getting real-time answers that are relevant to your life! With NeuroGym you can do that at least once a week and there are often more opportunities. And of course, the forum is always open and if you’re up at 3:00am and need some help, encouragement, or lively conversation, there’s always someone “out there” — even though they might be on a different continent or eating lunch while you trade posts.
Many of the group members are well-known leaders in their own right or aspiring to be, and so much love, encouragement, knowledge and support is offered, often by John himself or one of his team, that it truly is one of the greatest benefits of the program.
Another critical element of the program is to find one or more Accountability Partners to provide support and you guessed it, hold each other accountable for making progress in achieving goals and dreams. I’ve teamed with 3 other women and we’re just getting to know one another, but based on the experiences of others in the group, I’m sure we’ll become life-long friends and cheerleaders for each other.
I’ve gone from zero to sixty in these five weeks, from identifying goals to starting to implement them — writing this blog is an example. I would probably have waited for months to get going, but with the brain re-training and support from NeuroGym and receiving Natalie’s Sisson’s challenge from a friend just hours after I had registered a website name, the synchronicity was just too compelling, and I’ve jumped into blogging in a way that I would never have thought possible. And that’s the whole point of the program: retrain your brain and you change your life.
So I’ve found my tribe at NeuroGym and with my Accountability Partners. And I have a chance to ask John questions every day. It doesn’t get better than that! But if I met John at a party, the question I would ask is this, “What’s next on the horizon?” Because you just know that a man who has built five incredibly diverse companies, become a behavioral and mindset expert, and is truly living the dream has to have something pretty special going on in the next phase of his life.
Inspired and uplifted,
Natalie
