I created an account just to say this is an amazing piece. I’m a cis female and I’ve been happily married for almost 5 years. My husband and I get in to arguments all the time about gender and I realized while reading this that I have been shutting down his side of the conversation. I have been lazy in arguments and relying on rhetoric. I think I even commented on his beard once…. This has made my think about the way I relate to my husband, who doesn’t fit completely in the masculine/male sterotype and identifies as a feminist. It has also made me think about the way I exclude other experiences and perspectives from my own definition of feminism. Please keep writing and sharing your experience and work. Thank you.
