They still hated the movie because it prickled their senses in ways they couldn't articulate...well, except when the sought me out, specifically, to tell me their critiques. There were no white good guys, no light-skinned proxies for white female beauty, capability was valued over looks, the white man was the coward who had to be rescued at the moral largesse of BP (until he was given a hero's task!) and it was cool-looking all the way around! Seemingly effortlessly!
