Xero is a New Zealand-based software company that develops cloud-based accounting software for small and medium-sized businesses. Xero uses Apiary’s editor and interactive documentation to write API Blueprints for their API projects.

To keep Xero’s proprietary information protected, they create private API projects and use advanced GitHub integration for version control and collaboration. This allows Xero to do the API Blueprint design phase using Apiary’s tools, synchronize the code with GitHub, and then share and collaborate across multiple teams. Xero appreciates Apiary’s priority support model, and worked with Apiary support to request an API design rules feature, which Apiary then built into the product to ensure the consistency of all API projects.

Apiary’s GitHub integration keeps API Blueprints in sync with GitHub code repository.
