Write Less, Read More

Why I Haven’t Posted Much This Week

The writer’s block has been real this week. My ability to put my thoughts into words can be quite extreme, actually. Some days, I open my laptop and the words spill onto the page. Other days, I sit here and try to force the words, only to grow frustrated with myself. I’m sure you can relate.

I posted a few stories this week as things came to mind, but truthfully, those pieces weren’t my best work nor was my heart really in it. Instead, I have found myself writing less and reading more this week.

There is a lot of benefit to scrolling through Medium and reading the work of our peers. Medium is a social platform, and engaging with other writers is one of the pieces to the puzzle of success here.

We all want overnight success, but the truth is, we will have weeks that delay our progress. This was one of those weeks — to an extent.

Not writing this week allowed me to spend time engaging with other writers on Medium. This is essential in building relationships on this platform. The readers who you frequently engage with will likely continue coming back to read your work, and vice versa.

Since I struggled to find the words this week, I decided I would highlight 3 stories I read this week that resonated with me.
