attention era

What do you see?

Well, a series of dummies.

Now I want one thing from you:

Can you find the smartest among these dummies?

You can’t. Right?

Because they are all the same! And you get confused.

Well, now, look at this picture:

Now what?

Now, it’s easy. When I say that the most brilliant dummy is wearing a blue dress, you can easily distinguish it from the rest.

Look at that picture again and try not to see the blue man, or at least don’t pay attention to it.

Is it possible?

Probably not.

Other dummies are extras; the only one that catches your attention is the blue one.

Are you aware that reading this content right now means you said “NO” to many other things and gave me your ATTENTION?

The governor of the world’s economy these days…

Do you know what is the governor of the world’s economy these days?

GOLD? MONEY? OIL? INFORMATION?👀

No, none of them!

— — — — — — — — — — — -{attention} — — — — — — — — — —

Do you know when something becomes valuable and comes into the economy?

When it is rare!

Is attention rare?

Of course.

Now let’s see “ what is the attention “ that is so rare.

content creation

What does attention mean?

In Latin, the verb attendere (from which the English word attention is derived) means to be drawn towards something. This verb is a combination of ad (toward) and tender (to stretch); A person who leans toward another to pay attention to him physically and mentally.

In neuroscience, attention is paid to the directionality and selectivity of mental processes.

What does it mean?

It means that our brain uses mechanisms to choose the most relevant information for further processing. From something about 10 *10*10*10*10*10*10*10*10 bits of information that enters the brain every second through the senses, only 10 *10 bits are considered and selected for further processing.

What about the rest?

Somehow, It gets thrown away……….. (junk)……………

Now, think about how long a person is awake and active during the day.

If we subtract sleep from it, maybe something like 15–16 hours.

So it means paying attention to something rare and limited

For example, how many other things can you pay attention to while reading this article? You can scroll up and down three different sites simultaneously, listen to TV news, visit some of your friend’s pages on Instagram, and… no, you can’t.

Suppose we try to do at least two or three things simultaneously. In that case, even if it is limited to drinking coffee, checking emails, and surfing the Internet, you can only devote a percentage of your attention to each of them. In the end, you spill the coffee on yourself and burn yourself😆☕ and send your work email to your spouse, or send a friendly message full of words +18 to your coworkers or manager.🤣 We are MULTITASKING but not paying proper attention to any tasks.

Mosquito vs. Warplane!

Do we notice everything that happens around us?

I think only and only if we are sitting in a silent forest, we can hear the sound of a mosquito.

wizzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

But these days and in this state of our lives, a tsunami of information and notifications comes toward us when we open our eyes; not only don’t hear a mosquito’s voice, we don’t hear a warplane’s noise passing.😵 This means that in a busy and sluggish state, our brain cannot even use its basic power, and it is tough to concentrate on something.

Attention economy

Herbert Simon, the winner of the Nobel Prize in Economics in 1978, who has worked extensively on attention economics, says:

Too much information leads to a lack of attention

And in 1997, Michael Goldhaber warned that the world economy is changing from an economy based on money and material things to an economy based on ATTENTION.

Attention” is the current currency these days

“Attention” is the current currency these days because:

^Those who don’t have it want it.^

^Those who have, want more.^

^ It can even be traded and converted into other types of money such as banknotes.^

How? For example, an influencer who has a large audience and has attracted the attention of many people himself introduces another person or brand and somehow trades the attention of his audience. And in return, he can get money for it, or he can use the products and services of that company or the person he introduces for free.Is this a new deal?

^And it can be stored like paper money and wealth^;

just like we put our money in a bank, attention can also be stored. So, if you can attract the audience’s attention even once, from now on, they will come back to you whenever they see any sign of you. So attention can reduce, but it can be revived again.

^And interestingly, if you have the audience’s attention, you can change it to dollars, but if you have money, you cannot always buy attention with that money. ^

For example, you may give your money to advertise your product or your content so that it is in the eyes of the audience. Still, with this state of indifference and blindness the audience finds in advertising, all your money may be burned and wasted.

^Another exciting thing is that attention can be stolen like many other valuable things like money and gold.^

For example, how often have you said, “I want to spend 2 hours and 20 minutes browsing Instagram explore?” In my opinion, never. We all want to go for a few minutes and go back to work, but when we open our eyes, we notice that 3 hours have passed, and we are still being redirected from this page to that page and from this post to that post. And these are different contents, businesses, and influencers who steal our attention and make it their own.

“So drawing attention is one of the survival factors for both people and businesses.”

Who is rich these days?

The wealthy these days is not the one who has more money or whose 0000000000000000000000000000000000’s of wealth will increase minute by minute but is the one who can attract a lot of attention. This attention can quickly turn into money. Just take a look at the bank account of famous YouTubers and…🙄
