Getting Ready to Rock DWTS Like A Boss
Just got this email reminder about Dancing with the Stars live at the Opry which is going down tomorrow night.

Lots of important info for me to take into consideration:
(1) Prepare for parking to be a hot mess, they warn.
No concern here. I am sure I can get someone in this house to drop me off and pick me up like my parents used to do for junior high dances. Continuing on that theme, perhaps. there will be a performance set to Endless Love,” or “Open Arms.” Have a feeling this might play well with tomorrow’s demographics.
(2) They will have food and alcohol available for purchase.
A conundrum here. But no need to decide now.
Seems both the stuff of a great dream or nightmare to chow down on chicken fingers and beer while half-naked, hot-bodied 20-somethings run around in front of me.
Will make a game day decision (don’t really know what this means, but Chris says this a lot and I think it’s appropriate here).
(3) Leave weapons at home.
Thankfully, unlike most Texans and, now, Tennesseans, I have never found cause to pack heat, as they say. Pocket knives are fascinating little gadgets, but nah. Just too complicated.
(4) I gave some brief consideration to “live tweeting” tomorrow’s show. “Live tweeting” is very popular among internet sensations and with my close to 50 new Twitter followers**, it seemed like a great thing to try.
Then, after about 20 seconds of thinking of what that entails, I was totally exhausted and took an hour long nap.
I woke up refreshed and committed, however, to taking notes tomorrow with a paper and pencil, like people did back then.
I need to get moving preparing my best bonnet and hoop skirt for tomorrow evening’s fun.
*thank you from the bottom of my heart to all my new twitter followers and folks who shared my story and folks who encourage what I know is completely ridiculous behavior. You all are truly some good good people from all different points in my life. I’m so lucky.
*my research indicates that 150,000 followers makes an internet sensation. After playing with the numbers, accounting for the pace of new followers and toying with several complicated algorithms, I have concluded that we are solidly on our way to success…in nine years.
