Thank You, Teachers
A Crowd Sourced Poem to Teachers
Over the last week and in the spirit of Teacher Appreciate Week, the directors here at the National Blogging Collaborative have been encouraging teachers and students to share their own “thank a teacher” tweets. We asked you to either send a special “thank you” to a teacher that has mattered to you or to teachers as a whole. What you see below is the result of that crowd sourcing, creatively written into a poem by NBC co-director, Christopher Bronke with graphic design work done by fellow co-directors Lisa Hollenbach and Brooke Carlyle Perry. Every word/phrase was taken directly from Twitter, from YOU.

Superhero Teachers,
You are GREAT!
bravely sharing your story with the world,
enriching my brain
Your energy made me love learning
with
Enthusiasm 2nd to none.
I admire your courage
My boss, who continues to be my favorite teacher,
happily retired now,
but not before
helping me find perspective — in work and life
Talking and joking,
lives lit up.
You are the BEST;
My favorite teacher!
Thank you for being a rock star, for:
being my fire starter
for tolerating and supporting me,
being my thought-partner, for:
inspiring my creative side,
sharing your voice, for:
helping me ‘let it go.’
For teaching me to love;
YOU deserve more respect.

A great inspiration — still inspired:
Everything you taught me
brightens my day.
Don’t worry about missing me
because I will be back. Because
I am grateful for your long-term support.
Appreciate your teachers.
Thank you! Merci! Gracias!
XOXO
