Fantastic entry!
The technology referenced is what will change the world forever.
If Deep Learning is the modeler’s clay then “Deep Teaching” is the sculptor’s marble. With DL, we learn how to build and train models and generally become comfortable with the concept. “DT” is where this preparatory work will be translated into something much more incredible. This is where we will apply this newly-acquired learning and actually build modular assets which will truly democratize AI.
“Deep Teaching” will see specialty bots built using parameters such that the most common among us could employ it to design any software or hardware within that bot’s purview. Truly exciting stuff.
Some folks are terrified that bots are coming for their jobs. I acknowledge that this has already happened to some extent but the coming wave will be the most liberating that humanity has ever experienced. The proverbial kid next door will build a battery Tesla can’t compete with. This is where I see this going.
Overall, folks shouldn’t worry about bots taking jobs, it’s the corporations that should worry because little Johnny next door will find himself on equal footing with the wealthiest companies. Research that used to be the exclusive domain of the most powerful corporations on earth will suddenly be rendered obsolete by Susie from across the street.
Incedentally, this is just one reason that we don’t want governments creating laws regarding AI. Yet, anyway. Once that happens, the only regulations being lobbied for are those that protect the corporations, not the people.
