My 2nd week on SPPC
It has been 2 weeks with SPPC. Time flies, I feel like it was just the first day. Start the second week with Human security in the post covid-19 world. The world is changing every day. I know for a fact but the more pandemic exists, the more the world changes. In my opinion, covid-19 is bad. It has taken our live, opportunity, and many things. But, we have to adapt ourselves to live with it.
Followed by Decoding the media by Aj. Phithaksak. I have learned a lot of things from this class whether it be, the definition of mass media, the advantage of mass media, or types of mass media. I wanna tell you something when I saw the word “Mass media” at first, I thought I was learning in BJM… But after I learned more about mass media, it made me know that it is important for our program also. As I said before, it is similar to GSSE because mass media is a technology that is a purpose to communicate a mass audience and If we want to create an impact, we need to use mass media as well. From 4 sentences that Aj gave to us, I picked this sentence “By using social media, I can express whatever I want”. That’s a valid point but I don’t agree with it. Social media is a place where millions of people use it every day. It’s a lot of fun to post a picture of friends or anything you want. However, when social media is a major cause of stress, we should pick what to post on public carefully because we don’t know what we post or express our opinion it will affect other people.
The interesting session which I want to mention is Design thinking workshop by P’tem and P’platoo. I am interested in design for a while so this workshop made me know many things. Moreover, I got to know a new friend from break out room. Perhaps this was the first time that I feel comfortable talking to a new friend and we have many things in common. “If you want to innovate, take a bold challenge, make a public announcement, and it will happen.” This quote by Sunil Sinha was presented in Prototype class. I have known that human-centered design is necessary for social innovation. Because human-centered is all about building empathy with people we’re designing for so it could be easy to solve the problem nowadays. Another topic is interesting as well whether Energy transition or The social innovation process. But for me, it’s quite difficult to understand. In the future, I am going to study harder!
Last but not least. As I mentioned in my first blog, public speaking is my weakness literally. The day before public speaking class I have known from seniors in cohort7 that everyone has to talk in this class, it made me nervous a lot. At the beginning of the class, I was still nervous but I mustered up the courage to speak in front of many people. Although my hand was shaking while I was speaking, I can get through it. I know I still have a lot to learn whether it be how to speak in public or how to get better in public speaking. I believe studying in GSSE will help me to improve this soft skill indeed.
Thanks for reading and hope you have a good day :D
